nexus telecommunications was formed in 1999 as a fully licensed Public Telecommunications Operator with an ISVR license. nexus are also fully interconnected to BT, Kingston, COLT and THUS, plus many other leading network operators allowing us to function in a dual marketplace within both the wholesale and retail industries. nexus were introduced to provide innovative and dynamic solutions to the telecommunication industry.

As a Service Operator, nexus at present switch around 1 billion minutes per annum to over 10000 businesses, with the potential to provide much more.

In addition to being a Service Operator, nexus are an independent, privately owned Service Provider with access to provisions from many world class suppliers of voice, data, mobile and system services. As a well-recognised company within the telecommunication world, nexus hold a number of close partnerships with the likes of BT, Cisco, Pipex and Opal, amongst others allowing us to specialise in helping businesses communicate, thus improving their business efficiency and in turn reducing their costs.

At nexus we provide an outstanding service through our own switched network in addition to reselling services for larger corporate networks, resulting in nexus becoming a specialised niche operator in an otherwise saturated industry.

*URGENT* Delay in Ofcom Legislation - at last weeks Ofcom Number Translation Service Forum the telecoms industry was informed about the following. Ofcom has announced a delay in the implementation of the 0870 regulations due to concerns about pre-call announcements. The 1st February, 2008 is therefore not applicable, no firm date has been set.

*URGENT* Ofcom has also announced a delay in the implementation of the 0871 regulations until the Summer 2008, due to the late submission of the PhonepayPlus (ICSTIS) Statement. The 1st February, 2008 is therefore not applicable, but no firm date has yet been set.

*October 2007* The latest figures from Ofcom show broadband connections in the UK passing the 14 million mark in Q2. According to Ofcom's latest telecoms market report, broadband connections totaled 14,365,000 at the end of the quarter, almost 3 million more compared with Q2 of 2006.

*1st June 2007* Ofcom have ordered that from September this year calls to personal numbers which start with the digits 070, must hear a warning regarding the calls cost for free, before connecting if the call will cost more than 20pence.
